The Construction
The frame that consists mainly of triangles gives a minimum
in weight and a maximum in stability.
Since the triangle is the strongest construction it is not
amazing that Mikael Pedersen picked this structure for his frame. Pedersen was inspired by railroad bridges,
especially the Whipple-Murphy bridge, which was
constructed under the same principles.
The Pedersen twin tube frames are made of seamless
CroMo tubes; they are hand brazed and have forged drop
outs. The wheel base and the frame geometry are chosen
in a way to guarantee an absolute smooth and even
ride. After sandblasting the frame gets a primer-surface
and is then powder-coated with black, shiny powder.
The Royal handlebar (and the seat post) are nickel-plated.
This is extremely rare these days. The formerly woven
saddle was substituted by a hammock leather saddle.

The Tyres
For many cyclists a tyre is a tyre - the main thing is that
theres enough air in it ! But there are in fact huge
differences. We demand a great deal from tyres; as much
as there are different bicycles for different tasks, there are
different tyres for different purposes. We are offering three
different tyre models all made by the Schwalbe Tyre
Company:
1. Marathon Slick (622-37) - a semi-slick tyre with very little rolling resistance (should be pumped up hard)
2. Marathon plus Smartguard (622-47, 559-47(26),
or 559-40 (26")) the tyre with the best puncture resistance system on the market (should be pumped up hard)
3. Big Apple (622-50) - A ballon tyre with an enormous cushioning effect (should be pumed up according to your
preferences: little air means a lot of comfort, more air
reduces the rolling resistance on the road). Nevertheless
the Big Apple tyre has an amazingly low rolling resistance
with little air pressure, and over 90 % of our customers
order the Big Apple.
